Close Ups

Rocks are a particular focus of mine, such as the large expanse of rock exposed in the deserts of the Southwest. Multicolored and etched with nature’s designs, they mimic the structures of our world - the rivers, the mountains, the fields – and create a little world of their own.

My photographs are the starting point of my work, but then, with the help of the computer, I manipulate, layer and rotate these images to reach the sweet spot between chaos and order in my design. Photographs of a palm tree bark and rocks are the basis of this composition. By superimposing them I defamiliarize each and create a new composition which allows the viewer to see the intricacies of nature’s designs.
